Why I Work in Pastel Pencils
I’m often asked why I choose pastel pencils. The answer lies in the detail. This medium allows me to combine the rich, velvety textures of traditional pastels with the precision of a pencil. It’s the only way I’ve found to truly give justice to the soft down of a feather or the sharp, intelligent glint in a bird’s eye. Every piece is a labour of patience, built up layer by layer until the subject feels like it’s about to take flight from the paper.
My Vision
To me, wildlife art is about more than just getting the anatomy right; it’s about capturing a moment of stillness in a world that never stops moving. Whether it’s a majestic bird of prey or a delicate butterfly, my goal is to bring that wild beauty of the skies into your home. I want my work to serve as a quiet reminder of our connection to these magnificent creatures and the environment we share.
About the Studio
As a fine portrait artist and illustrator based in Glossop. My business was founded on a passion for the natural world and a commitment to creating accessible, high-quality art for wildlife enthusiasts.
While my original pieces are the result of hours of detailed pencil work, my Limited Edition Prints offer a way for collectors to own exclusive versions of my work at a more accessible price point. To complement our larger pieces, we will also be offering a curated range of Art Postcards, perfect for gifting or small-scale decor. Every order is handled with professional care, ensuring that a piece of the countryside wild reaches you in perfect condition.
